I've known Devin for ten years, Julia for just shy of that, and I adore them both. I deeply admire Julia's creativity and care for others, and Devin's ability to create significant community in any and all circumstances he's in. Throughout our friendship I've been hosted by them separately and together, collaborated with each on various creative and communal projects, even lived with one of them, and am better for all of it. As incredible as they are apart, they're even better as a pair.
Perhaps this comes as no surprise, based on the calibre of character just described, but this wedding was so fun! It had everything good: karaoke, food trucks, Ukranian cookies thick with salt, polka-lines that lasted far longer than the musicians' fingers were prepared for, and a dance party to end all shirts.
Inspired by the Dutch Painters (think Rembrandt, Vermeer, Ruysch), these two decorated their wedding with rich colour, golden details, platters of fruit, angled light, and velvet beauty. Congrats again, you two!
